Supercell: Festival of Contemporary Dance Brisbane

Throwback to Supercell: Festival of Contemporary Dance Brisbane.

It's been almost two months since I came back from Brisbane where my solo Folding Echoes was invited to perform by Supercell: Festival of Contemporary Dance Brisbane.

I arrived in the morning before the performance from Sweden, after more than 24 hours of flights and wait. Yet, I was excited. Excited to perform this solo again, in front of some familiar faces and some new ones. It was a nice surprise when I found out some of the audiences have watched the solo two years ago when I performed it in Beijing! Small world!

Up until then, I still allowed myself to explore the details of the work, the energy that I projected, the pauses in between sentences, the physicality of the movements and how do I react to the light and new space. And I still find new things in each performance. In Supercell, I think I did one of the best version of this work.

I'm bringing this work to Shanghai this November, and some moments in Brisbane are going to stay in it. Looking forward.
